Business Honors for July 4, 2010

Joseph C. Possa, an attorney with Tyler & Possa, has been named a Fellow of the Louisiana Bar Foundation. The foundation works to enhance the legal profession, increase public understanding of the legal system and advance equal justice.

Dexcomm, a national call center in Carencro, received the 2010 Emerald Award of Excellence presented annually by the Association of TeleServices International.

The Gulf States Region of the American Institute of Architects recognized Remson/Haley/Herpin Architects with an Honor Citation Award for the OneEleven Building next to the Shaw Center and a Merit Award for MAPP Construction’s headquarters on Third Street.

Fourteen members of the LSU AgCenter’s communications and information technology units received national awards from the Association for Communication Excellence in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Life and Human Sciences. Linda Benedict received the Award of Excellence in media relations. Gold awards went to Sandy Fiser and Megan Smith in the interactive multimedia and Web graphic category; Benedict and Rick Bogren for editing the Louisiana Agriculture quarterly magazine; Betsy Neely, Craig Gautreaux, Randy LaBauve, Mark Claesgens and Bogren in educational packaging; LaBauve and Gautreaux in the noncredit educational video production category; Katina Hester, Rose Ann St. Romain and Smith in interactive media programming; Fred Piazza, Lisa West, Smith, Hester and Fiser for  redesigning the LSU AgCenter website. John Wozniak received a silver award in the photo illustration category.

Frankie Gould was recognized for 25 years of service in ACE and her role as the organization’s past president in 2009-2010.

It Straps On Inc., a manufacturer of stainless steel banding and strapping systems in Covington, received the 2010 Small Manufacturing Award from the Manufacturing Extension Partnership of Louisiana for building a culture of continuous improvement throughout its organization.
